AMMAN, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Sunday condemned a terrorist attack by Islamic State (IS) group on a voter registration center in Afghanistan's Kabul, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said Jordan strongly condemns such attack and rejects all terrorist acts that targets civilians.

The minister labeled the attack as heinous, voicing support and solidarity with Afghanistan.

The IS group claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing that took place on Sunday in Dashti Barchi district of Kabul, leaving at least 36 people dead and 60 others injured.

The attack in Kabul came a few months ahead of Afghanistan's parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in October.

Later on Sunday, a roadside bombing in Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province killed five civilians and wounded four others.
