Digital China Summit concludes

FUZHOU, April 24 (Xinhua) -- The first Digital China Summit concluded Tuesday in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, with an academy established.

The summit, attended by 293 companies, demonstrated the latest fruits of the development of the country's e-government and digital economy, according to Zhang Zhinan, vice governor of Fujian.

During the event, investors showed interest in more than 400 projects, with total investments of 360 billion yuan (56.9 billion U.S. dollars), and 29 project agreements signed.

An academy dedicated to China's digital development was founded at the closing ceremony of the summit.

The organization will help resolve major issues in digitalization and use technological innovation to boost the digital industry, according to Xu Guanhua, academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The summit, which opened on Sunday, was jointly held by the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Fujian provincial government.
