TOKYO, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning tracking losses overnight on Wall Street as rising U.S. long-term government bond yields led to a sell-off.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 143.95 points, or 0.65 percent, from Tuesday to 22,134.17.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 8.13 points, or 0.46 percent, at 1,761.62.
Oil and coal product, electric appliance and machinery-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
