ZHENGZHOU, China, April 26 (Xinhua) -- China Super League (CSL) club Henan Jianye has signed South Korean Chang Woe-Ryong as head coach after Dragan Talajic stepped down last week, the club said on Thursday.

59-year-old Chang Woe-Ryong has coached in China, including spells with Qingdao Jonoon, Dalian Aerbin and Chongqing Lifan.

"I watched Jianye's three most recent games, I feel that they lost their spirit, so my first thing is to refresh them and help them to regain confidence," Chang said.

"The club set a target for me of keeping Jianye in the CSL, so we must get 30 points at least. From now on, I must try my best to combine everyone's energy, skill and spirit to realize it," Chang added.

Henan Jianye have only one win after seven rounds of the 2018 CSL, and they fired Talajic, who took the reins last December, after a three-game losing run.

"We hope Chang can inspire the team to fight and bring new ideas to lead the team of trouble," the club said in a statement.

Jianye now has four points to stand 14th in the 16-team top league.
