DUBAI, April 26 (Xinhua) -- U.S. hotel group Marriott International said Thursday that it signed a distribution cooperation agreement with a Saudi travel group to establish direct connectivity.

This agreement, signed a day after the tourism fair Arabian Travel Market 2018 ended in Dubai, will allow Marriott International to have access to the "wide-reaching networks in Saudi Arabia" through the kingdom's Al Tayyar Travel Group.

According to director of global sales at Marriott International Sohail Pedari, Marriott, which runs nine hotels in Saudi Arabia, is bullish about tourism in the kingdom.

"We will add by 2025 another 25 resorts across the country," he told Xinhua.

Earlier this month, the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, headed by King Salman's oldest son Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, announced that the kingdom would issue individual tourism visas for the first time.
