UNITED NATIONS, April 27 (Xinhua) - The Palestinian representative to the United Nations on Friday urged international commissions to conduct independent and transparent investigations into the recent conflict taking place along the Gaza-Israel border.

"Let us have independent commissions to come and investigate to find who is violating international law, to find who are the criminals," Riad Mansour told reporters a day after an open debate on the Middle East at the UN Security Council, where he said the majority of the delegates showed massive support for Palestinians.

Shortly before Mansour's remarks, violence broke out Friday at a Palestinian rally near the Israeli border, with three Palestinians killed and more than 880 injured, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

The rally is part of a larger movement dubbed the "Great March of Return", staged every Friday during the past six weeks. Dozens of Palestinians have been killed in the sustained protest and thousands injured. The organizers have said the demonstrations will go on until mid-May.

Witnesses said Palestinian demonstrators threw stones at the Israeli forces, and the soldiers responded with teargas shells and rubber-coated bullets.

Condemning the "brutalities and crimes against Palestinian civilians", Mansour said the Israeli forces' actions should be stopped and human rights violators be held accountable.
