TALLINN, April 30 (Xinhua) -- The state-owned Estonian flag carrier launched flights between Tallinn and Copenhagen on Monday to fly to the Danish capital up to 11 times a week.

"Our job as an airline is to create quick, convenient, direct connections for Estonian travellers to key destinations," Toomas Uibo, Nordica's Director of Marketing and Communication, was quoted as saying in a press release.

He noted that good links with the Danish capital are of great importance to Estonia and "the Copenhagen route gives passengers the chance to choose the best flight times for them and provides greater competition, which will bring down ticket prices."

Kastrup Airport, the biggest hub in Scandinavia, is well-located for connections for both transit passengers and those enjoying city breaks alike, said the press release.

In its two years of operations, Nordica has become one of the most competitive airlines in its region, operating 19 aircraft and making it the biggest airline in Estonian history, said the Estonian flag carrier.

It exports its flight services to Sweden, Denmark, Poland and the Netherlands and employs more than 400 aviation specialists in Estonia and abroad.
