RAMALLAH, April 30 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian National Council (PNC), or the parliament of Palestine Liberation Organization, convened Monday in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
It is the first PNC meeting since 2009, which aims to discuss the Palestinian ties with Israel and the United States, as well as the internal Palestinian situation.
Speaker of the parliament Salim Zanoon opened the first session with playing the Palestinian national anthem and greeting the spirts of Palestinians killed in the conflict with Israel.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who attended the opening session, is to address the council with a speech aired on Palestine Satellite Television.
