Zambia women's national soccer team gears up for Africa Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe

LUSAKA, May 8 (Xinhua) -- The Zambia women's national soccer team on Tuesday went into residential camp to start preparations for a Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Zimbabwe.

Zambia will meet Zimbabwe on June 4 at home for the last qualifying rounds before traveling to Harare on June 9th for the return leg after beating Tanzania in the first round matches.

The technical bench has summoned 30 players who will be in camp for one month, according to team manager Besa Chibwe who released a list of the players.

Zambia was last at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in 2014 which was hosted by Namibia, and are geared to make a comeback, he added.

Following is a list of the squad:

Goalkeepers: Catherine Musonda, Anna Namonje (Indeni Roses), Bupe Mwanza (National Assembly), Maleta Mwanza (Green Buffaloes), Yolanda Hankanka (Choma Warriors)

Defenders: Lweendo Chisamu, Anita Mulenga, Martha Tembo (Green Buffaloes), Rebecca Nyirenda, Margaret Belemu (Red Arrows), Vast Phiri, Jane Chalwe (Zesco Girls), Jacqueline Nkole (Indeni Roses), Lushomo Mweemba (Nkwazi), Esnart Kangwa (Choma Warriors)

Midfielders: Hellen Chanda, Prisca Chilufya, Mary Mulenga (Red Arrows), Rhoda Chileshe, Misozi Zulu, Sara Moyo (Indeni Roses), Mercy Nthala (National Assembly), Mary Mambwe (Nkwazi), Avel Chitundu (Zesco Girls), Mary Mwakapila (Green Buffaloes)
