MADRID, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 up 0.52 percent or 53.10 points, to 10,221.20 points.
Spanish lender Bankinter advanced 3.15 percent, being the top gainer of the day. Spain's energy company Repsol gained 2.54 percent and Spain's fourth largest bank Bankia was up 2.17 percent.
Hotel chain Melia Hotels lost 2.90 percent, being the top loser of the blue chips. Electricity company Endesa went down 0.92 percent and electricity supplier R.E.C. fell 0.86 percent. Enditem
