Dollar changes hands in upper 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo

TOKYO, May 10 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Thursday, largely unchanged from its levels in New York overnight.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.83-84 yen compared with 109.70-80 yen in New York and 109.71-72 yen at 5 p.m on Wednesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1846-1850 dollars and 130.12-13 yen against 1.1846-1856 dollars and 129.99-130.09 yen in New York and 1.1838-1839 dollars and 129.88-92 yen in late Wednesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
