XI'AN, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Fans of Inter Milan from 28 Chinese cities will gather on this Sunday night to witness the Italian Serie A side fighting for qualification in the UEFA Champions League (UCL).

Inter will face Lazio in the last round of the Italian top league. The 2009-2010 Champions League winner hasn't entered the UCL since the 2012-2013 season.

Inter is among the most popular European football clubs in China. Although the fans will have to head to work few hours after the game due to the time difference, 62 fans from Xi'an will cheer on their team until five in the morning local time on the next Monday.

In addition to Xi'an, Inter fans from Beijing, Shanghai and 25 other cities in China will gather and witness the epic match.

"As you know, Lazio defeated Inter in the final round's match in 2002. At that time, Inter lost its chance to grab the trophy. Ronaldo's tears impressed us and broke our heartstrings," An Inter fan from Xi'an named Lv Cheng told Xinhua.

"We should beat Lazio this time to return to the Champions League. It will be not only a historic moment, but also a revenge," Lv added.

Inter is three points from fourth place Lazio at the Italian Serie A table.

If it manages to win this key match, it will move past its rivals and earn qualification for next season's UCL due to a better head-to-head record.
