BEIJING, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.71 percent to end at 3,169.57 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.43 percent lower at 10,701.32 points.
