MADRID, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares rose on Thursday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 up 1.04 percent or 105.40 points to 10,216.40 points.
A total of 31 of the selected 35 large companies gained in the day.
World's leading retailer Inditex advanced 3.91 percent, being the top gainer of the day. Renewable energy company Siemens Gamesa rose 2.97 percent and Spain's energy company Repsol was up 2.03 percent.
Telecommunication company Cellnex went down by 2.14 percent, being the top loser of the blue chips. Consultancy and technology company Indra A lost 2.01 percent and real estate company Merlin was down 0.89 percent. Enditem
