LONDON, May 17 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up 53.77 points or 0.70 percent at 7,787.97 points.
Experian, a global information services group, soared 5.59 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. National Grid and Burberry Group rose by 3.80 percent and 3.21 percent, respectively.
Royal Mail, the British postal service company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.16 percent.
