TEHRAN, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Friday called for international probe into Israeli violence in the Gaza Strip, according to Press TV.

Zarif urged "transparent and independent" international probe into the "crimes" in the occupied Palestinian territories by Israel.

Zarif made the remarks in an address to a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers on Palestine in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Friday.

"In light of the massacre in Gaza, the international community is entitled to demand an end to the impunity of this brutal and rogue apartheid regime" of Israel, he was quoted as saying.

"We need to take concrete action in the United Nations system ... and the OIC should reinforce the call for bringing the perpetrators to justice," said the Iranian foreign minister.

The foreign ministers of the OIC member states met on Friday in Istanbul over a roadmap that seeks to end Israel's violence policy.

The U.S. relocation of its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Monday sparked protests and clashes with Israeli forces at the Gaza border in which more than 60 Palestinians were killed.
