RIO DE JANEIRO, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian surfer Filipe Toledo claimed his second career Rio Pro victory on Friday by defeating Australian Wade Carmichael in the final of the event in Saquarema, near Rio de Janeiro.

The 23-year-old scored 17.10 with his best two waves - including a superb 9.93 - while Carmichael could only manage 8.0.

"This is Brazil, that's our energy, that's our feeling, it's emotional and amazing coming back home," Toledo told reporters.

"It's the last heat, your last chance, that's what I put in my mind. It's the big show and it's my time."

Toledo, who also won the Rio Pro in 2015, is now second in the world tour standings with 18,075 points after four rounds. Australian Julian Wilson, whom Toledo defeated in the semifinals here, leads with 19,415 points.

The next stop on the tour will be the Bali Pro at Keramas beach from May 27 to June 9.
