BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Chen Xi on Monday stressed improving selection of college graduates and building high-quality and professionalized ranks of Party officials to support party building.
Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee Organization Department, made the remarks at a symposium on a guideline on promoting loyal, responsible and competent officials.
The right approach in selecting and appointing officials should motivate them, and those who are willing and capable should be given opportunities and platforms, Chen said.
Mistakes and errors by officials when pushing forward reforms and testing new policies are permissible, while those that crossed the lines of Party discipline and law are not, according to Chen.
He also asked for more attention to the long-term building of the ranks of officials and highlight political standard in the selection of college graduates.
