BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- A total of 73 percent of Chinese youth prefer to find their future partner via dates initiated by communist youth leagues and social organizations, according to a survey.

The dating and marriage survey, with 3,082 respondents from different regions and fields, was released by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.

Some 11 percent of Chinese youth opt for finding a partner via social networking apps, 6 percent choose dating websites, and only 2 percent choose TV matchmaking shows to find a partner, the survey showed.

The survey also found that 50 percent of Chinese singletons are pressured most by their parents to get married, followed by pressure from society and themselves.

Chinese youth are most concerned with health and ability to find a partner, while narrow social circles, busy work hours, and passiveness the main reasons for being single, it said.
