BEIRUT, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The newly elected Lebanese parliament convened Wednesday, chaired by the oldest lawmaker Michel Murr in its first session and re-elected Nabih Berri as Speaker.
Out of the 128 members of the parliament, 98 voted for Berri who has been holding the post since 1992 while 30 abstained.
The parliament will also elect a Deputy Speaker and a General Secretariat in the vote.
