DUBAI, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Emirates Airline will upgrade its service from Dubai to Hamburg, Germany from Oct. 29 by deploying an Airbus A380 "Superjumbo," the international carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said on Monday in a statement.

To commemorate the inaugural arrival in Hamburg on Oct. 29, the A380 plane with 516 seats will be deployed in the morning; from Oct. 30, the A380 will be regularly deployed in the afternoon. Currently, the Dubai-Hamburg route is served by a Boeing 777.

Hamburg will be the 49th destination of Emirates' global network to be served by A380 aircraft.

"Enabling an increase in the number of passengers will also result in additional tourism revenues for Hamburg and its wider region, which in turn will boost the local economy and job creation," said Volker Greiner, Emirates Vice President of North and Central Europe.

The Dubai government-controlled carrier and the city of Hamburg enjoy a special relation. On Nov. 2 last year, the Emirates Executive Chairman Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum witnessed the delivery of the 100th A380 at Airbus manufacturer's delivery center in Hamburg.
