BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Chen Xi on Tuesday called on China and Vietnam to strengthen solidarity and cooperation.

Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee Organization Department, made the remarks during a meeting with a visiting delegation led by Nguyen Xuan Thang, secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC).

Chen said China and Vietnam have deepened bilateral comprehensive friendly cooperation under the leadership of General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping and General Secretary of the CPVCC Nguyen Phu Trong.

He called on both the CPC and the Communist Party of Vietnam to implement the important consensus reached by the two leaders, enhance solidarity and cooperation, and cope with challenges jointly.

Nguyen Xuan Thang said Vietnam hopes to learn from the CPC's experience in ruling the Party and the country so as to promote the national development.
