JAKARTA, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian youth and sport ministry is confident that the country's athletes will secure two gold medals from athletics in the Asian Games, according to the country's athletics association.

Indonesia's athletics association asserted that long jump and sprint running can potentially contribute gold medals in the continental sports event.

"We try to serve the best things for the nation," said Tigor M. Tanjung, secretary of the association.

Talking about the upcoming Asian Games, Tanjung said that the association expects a repeat of gold medals haul in athletics like the Asian Games 2014 in Incheon of South Korea, or exceed that achievement.

Indonesian athlete Maria Natalia got one gold medal in long jump in the last Games, according to the association.

To boost capabilities and find out the map of strength of the opponents, Indonesian athletes will compete in some warm-up events in South Korea and Japan later in the month, according to Mustara Musa, director for training center of the country's athletes for Asian Games.

The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in Indonesian, capital of Jakarta and Palembang city, the provincial capital of South Sumatra province from August 18 to September 2.
