NEW YORK, June 8 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks opened on a downbeat note on Friday as uncertainties remain over the two-day G7 summit in Canada.

Shortly after the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 23.29 points, or 0.09 percent, to 25,218.22. The S&P 500 was down 3.72 points, or 0.13 percent, to 2,766.65. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 27.03 points, or 0.35 percent, to 7,608.04.

Investors concerned over the tensions between the United States and its key trading partners.

The G7 summit is set to be held in Canada from Friday to Saturday, where trade is expected to top the agenda.

Concerns surrounding trade and relations between the United States and other nations, including its allies, is likely to continue to weigh on investor sentiment, as little economic news is due out on the week's final day of trade, experts noted.

U.S. stocks ended mixed on Thursday as the decline of tech-weighted shares dragged the broader market, offsetting the gains in energy sectors. Enditem
