Belarus' cuisine week starts in capital of Minsk

MINSK, June 11 (Xinhua) -- The Cuisine Week of Belarus started on Monday at the cafes and restaurants in the capital of Minsk.

Until June 17, a total of 77 restaurants and cafes in the Belarusian capital will offer guests five dishes of national cuisine at a single price.

The special menu includes a summer vegetable salad with homemade cottage cheese, a cold beetroot soup with baked potatoes, lapunos with bacon and mushroom sauce, a mashanka (gravy) with pancakes and a birch-honey drink.

It is for the 17th time when the cafes and restaurants in Minsk have worked together to popularize the national cuisine and develop a food culture.
