China to organize four competitions of Int'l Army Games 2018

BEIJING, June 15 (Xinhua) -- China will organize four competitions of the International Army Games this year, and take part in 18 in other countries, according to a press release issued Thursday.

Three competitions will be held in Korla, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and one in Quanzhou, east China's Fujian Province.

So far, militaries from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Venezuela, Iran, Pakistan, Egypt, and Zimbabwe have confirmed their participation in the competitions in China, according to the press release.

China will provide equipment for the four competitions, and make efficient and considerate arrangements to support the participants, the press release said.

The International Army Games, initiated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, will start on July 28, with 28 competitions in total this year. It will be co-organized by China, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Iran.

China has been invited to take part in games for five years in a row, and started to organize part of the competitions in 2017.
