SOCHI, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Spain defender Gerard Pique was in a positive mood after Spain's 3-3 draw against Portugal on Friday night.

Spain twice came from behind after Cristiano Ronaldo goals and two goals from Diego Costa and a volley from Nacho Fernandez looked as if they were going to give Spain a win, only for Ronaldo to seal a draw with a late free kick.

"It's a positive result," said Pique after the game. "The late goal changed everything, but the most important thing today was not to lose."

"You have to try and enjoy games and that's not easy when you fall behind in the second minute, but I think we reacted well," he said. Ronaldo had put Portugal ahead after just four minutes from the penalty spot.

The defender also defended goalkeeper David de Gea after the 44th minute error which allowed Ronaldo to put Portugal back ahead.

"De Gea has been playing for a long time now, and it won't affect him. He will know how to deal with it," he concluded.

The keeper himself was philosophical about the mistake.

"If you make an error, you are a really bad keeper, if you make a save, you are the hero. You have to live with it," he said.

De Gea said Spain coach Fernando Hierro had given him his support, as had his companions. "It's a mistake, but I have to live with it. It's happened and nothing will change that, but now I have to look ahead and prepare to face Iran," he concluded.
