Former senior political advisor dies at 91

BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Zhao Nanqi, former vice chairman of the 9th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, passed away due to illness at the age of 91 in Beijing on Sunday evening.

An official statement issued on Monday described Zhao as an excellent member of the Communist Party of China, a long-tested and loyal Communist fighter, a proletarian revolutionary, and a leader of the Chinese army's logistics work.

Zhao was also former member of the Central Military Commission, former head of the logistical department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and former president of the Academy of Military Science of the PLA.
