KUWAIT CITY, June 24 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese cultural show themed "Beautiful China-Scenic Guangxi" was held on Sunday in Hawalli Governorate in Kuwait.
Co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait and the Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the show is part of the ongoing 21st International Music Festival in Kuwait, which opened on June 23 and will last six days until June 28.
Performed by Chinese artists from Guangxi Culture and Art Troupe, the Chinese musical instrument solo performance, highly skilled acrobatics, and folk dance from different ethnic minority groups in China, particularly the "Ballet on Shoulders" and "Thousand-hand Bodhisattva" dance, enthralled the Kuwaiti audience.
Zhu Chuangwei, director of the troupe and vice director general of Cultural Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, expressed his happiness to present the cultural show to the Kuwaiti people.
"We are very glad to attend the Kuwaiti music festival to present the unique Chinese art and culture. I hope our performance will leave the Kuwaiti people a beautiful impression," he said.
Zhu Xi, director of cultural office of the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, said the Kuwaiti people will have a good opportunity to enjoy the charm of the Chinese culture.
"I hope the cultural show would promote the cultural exchange between China and Kuwait," Zhu said.
Asya, a local resident who came to watch the show, hailed it as "the most amazing show" ever watched.
"Through the show, I really begin to fall in love with Chinese culture. I hope in the future there will be more Chinese cultural shows in Kuwait," Asya said.
