BERLIN, Jun 25 (Xinhua) -- Newly promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf have signed striker Marvin Ducksch from second division side St. Pauli, both clubs announced on Monday.

Last season's second-division top-scorer Marvin Ducksch will play in Germany's top flight after joining Fortuna Dusselorf on a four-year deal until June 2022.

"He is an important reinforcement for our offense due to his physical presence, heading ability and strong right foot. We are delighted that the second-division top-scorer opted for us," Dusseldorf head coach Friedhelm Funke said.

The 24-year-old new arrival played on loan at Holstein Kiel last season, where he made 49 appearances to provide 16 assists and 23 goals since January 2017.

"From the beginning of the talks I had a good feeling. You do not need to say much about Fortuna as a club. You only have to see the stadium, the fans, the euphoria and the city. It wasn't a difficult decision for me," Ducksch said.

Fortuna Dusseldorf earned their promotion for Germany's top flight after finishing atop the standings in the second division. It will be their 24th season in the Bundesliga. Enditem
