Wallace swaps Hamburg for Hannover

BERLIN, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Hannover have sealed the transfer of Hamburg's midfielder Walace Souza Silva, the "Reds" announced on Tuesday.

Walace leaves Hamburg after their first-ever relegation as he penned a four-year deal with Hannover to stay until June 2022.

"We are glad that we were able to convince a Brazilian Olympic champions from Hannover. Wallace is an excellent player who embodies with his qualities what we have been looking for," Hannover's sporting director Horst Heldt said.

The midfielder joined Hamburg in January 2017 to make 27 outings. He scored two goals and provided two assists since his arrival.

"I am pleased to start a new stage of my career at Hannover. I had very convincing talks with those responsible. I want to evolve here and show my best football," Walace said.

His new club Hannover maintained their top-flight status after finishing on the 12th place of the Bundesliga standings. Enditem
