SHENZHEN, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Shenzhen customs Thursday said that they had seized six cultural relics dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

The relics were found inside a passenger's suitcase in Shenzhen Bay Port, which connects Hong Kong and Shenzhen, in late May.

The passenger claimed the relics were works of art, but officers insisted on sending them to an authentication organization for identification.

The cultural relics, a gilded bronze Buddha statue, a gilded iron knife, two sacred religious instrument called Vajra Pestle and two gilded iron stamps, were confirmed to be created during the Qing Dynasty.

Further investigation is underway.
