LAGOS, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's football governing body would have a meeting to review the performance of Super Eagles, the country's national team, at the 2018 Russia World Cup, an official said on Sunday.

Bitrus Bewarang, head of Technical Committee of the Nigerian Fotball Federation (NFF), told reporters that the federation was yet to do a review of the Eagles' matches at the World Cup.

This will enable the federation to know the strength and weaknesses of the team and to do a surgical operation with a view to move forward, he added.

The Super Eagles lost the first Group D match 2-0 to Croatia in the opening game, won their second match 2-0 against Iceland but failed to qualify for the round of 16 after a 2-1 loss to Argentina.

The committee head said the NFF seemed to emphasize on the development of young players, where there would be U-13 and U-15 competitions. Enditem
