TOKYO -- Trade ministers and representatives from 16 Asia-Pacific countries have agreed to seek an early conclusion of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) deal at their fifth intersessional ministerial meeting that wrapped up here on Sunday.
During the two-day meeting, trade representatives from China, Australia, India, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), had in-depth discussions on issues such as trade, service, investment and rules at the meeting. (Japan-Asia-Pacific Countries-RCEP)

JALALABAD, Afghanistan -- Up to 15 people were killed and 20 others injured as a motor bomb rocked Jalalabad city, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday, provincial government spokesman Attaullah Khogiani said.
The blast, according to the official, hit the busy market of Mukhabirat square, killing 15 people, mostly civilians. (Afghanistan-Blast)

NEW DELHI -- As many as 47 people have been killed after a passenger bus skidded off a steep mountain road and plunged into a deep gorge in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand Sunday, police said.
The accident occurred on the Pipali-Bhoan motorway in Pauri Garhwal district, some 200 km from the state capital of Dehradun. (India-Accident)

SEOUL -- South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sunday restored a maritime military hotline between battleships of the two sides, Yonhap news agency reported citing Seoul's defense ministry.
The ministry was quoted as saying that the military authorities of the two Koreas normalized the maritime military hotline between battleships to prevent accidental skirmishes in waters near the west inter-Korean maritime border. (South Korea-DPRK) Enditem
