BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) -- China is ready to cooperate with Singapore under the Belt and Road Initiative, a senior Chinese official said Monday.

Guo Shengkun, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Teo Chee Hean, deputy prime minister of Singapore.

"Xi Jinping thought on diplomacy is an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era," Guo said. "Under the guidance of Xi Jinping thought on diplomacy, China will work with Singapore to implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries."

Guo called on law enforcement and security departments of the two countries to strengthen cooperation on fighting narcotics and terrorism, on fugitive repatriation and asset recovery, and on combating telecom fraud, to help safeguard security and stability in each country and the whole region , and to make new contribution to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

Teo Chee Hean said Singapore was ready to enhance cooperation with China in all fields, including law enforcement and security.
