GAZA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli army force killed one Palestinian and wounded three others Monday after they infiltrated the borderline area between southern Gaza Strip and Israel, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.
Palestinian security sources said four Gaza young men infiltrated the borders east of Rafah town in southern Gaza Strip, close to Kerem Shalom commercial crossing.
The Palestinian sources said Israeli soldiers stationed in the area opened fire at the four young men 40 meters inside the Israeli territory.
The soldiers arrested three of them, while the fourth man escaped and was shot in his shoulder, added the source.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza also confirmed that one man was shot in his shoulder and was taken to the hospital in Rafah town for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, an Israeli army spokesman said in a press statement that one was killed, two were wounded and detained and the fourth one who was injured escaped into the Gaza Strip.
The death of one of the four men hasn't been confirmed by the Palestinian side in Gaza.
The army said when the soldiers went to arrest the four men, gunmen in the area fired at the soldiers.
The Palestinian security sources said that following the gunfire on the Israeli soldiers at the border, a tank shell was fired at a Hamas military post close in the area, with no injuries reported.
Since the outbreak of rallies and protests that the Palestinians call the "Great Marches of Return" on March 30, there had been several attempts of border infiltration between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel.
Ashraf al-Qedra, the health ministry spokesman in Gaza, told reporters that death toll since March 30 has grown up to 135 with over 14,000 injured, and around half of them were shot by live ammunition, many still in critical condition.
