R&F Israeli striker Eran Zahavi close to sign with Shanghai SIPG

JERUSALEM, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Guangzhou R&F's Israeli striker Eran Zahavi is close to signing at Shanghai SIPG, it was reported Tuesday in Hebrew language website "Ynet".

SIPG, current Chinese Super League (CSL) leader, is supposed to pay R&F 40 million U.S. dollars for Zahavi, and he is expected to earn 20 million U.S. dollars a season in his new team.

The details of the deal are expected to be closed in a few days, while the CSL transfer window will be closed on July 13.

Zahavi's representatives once contacted the Tianjin Quanjian F.C in January but in the end the player inked a three-year extension with Guangzhou R&F, at 12.5 million U.S. dollars per season.

In 2017 season, Zahavi was Chinese Super League's top scorer with 27 goals and was chosen player of the year in China. In this season he has scored 9 goals in 11 matches.
