UAE, Eritrea vow to strengthen ties

DUBAI, July 3 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Eritrea on Tuesday pledged to strengthen their ties, especially in the fields of trade and investment.

The consensus was reached at the meeting between Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan with visiting Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki.

The crown prince expressed his hope that the visit will contribute to strengthening the bilateral ties, for the benefit of both nations and peoples, the UAE state news agency WAM reported.

The two leaders reviewed current bilateral relations, and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

They also discussed possible opportunities for boosting cooperation in trade and investment sectors, the WAM report said.
