PARIS, July 4 (Xinhua) -- French shares closed flat on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 slightly up 0.07 percent, or 3.73 points, to close at 5,320.50 points.
French telecommunication company Orange advanced 2.22 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. French retail giant Carrefour rose 1.99 percent, followed by French multinational pharmaceutical company Safoni, which gained 1.34 percent.
French life service company Sodexo went down by 3.13 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. STMicroelectronics, a French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer, lost 2.80 percent.
