KUNMING, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Police in China's Yunnan Province have detained two suspects for trafficking around 12.7 kg of heroin, local authorities said.
On June 30, Changning County police received a tip that two drug dealers were planning to transport drugs from Gengma County into Kunming, capital of Yunnan.
A task force was immediately set up to investigate the case. Police arrested two suspects on July 1 in Gengma and seized 32 bricks of heroin from their vehicle.
Further investigation is underway.
Yunnan is a major front in China's war on drugs, as it borders the Golden Triangle known for drug production and trafficking.
