BERLIN, Jul 11 (Xinhua) -- Borussia Dortmund have signed Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid with immediate effect, the eight-time German champions confirmed in an official statement on Wednesday.

The "BVB" completed the sixth summer transfer after Hakimi penned a season-long loan deal.

"Achraf Hakimi is a young, dynamic defender who has played at the highest level with Real Madrid and Morocco's national team," Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc said.

The 19-year-old right back joined Real Madrid's youth setup in 2006 and was promoted to the reserves in 2016. He recently played for the first team and scored two goals in nine appearances.

Dortmund's new arrival is since 2016 part of Morocco's national team where he made 13 caps and provided one goal.

Hakimi is the sixth summer transfer after the arrival of Thomas Delaney, Marius Wolf, Abdou Diallo, Marwin Hitz and Eric Oelschlaegel.

The "Black-and-Yellows" completed the Bundesliga season 2017-2018 on the 4th place of the standings. As a result, they booked a berth for next season's UEFA Champions League group stage. Enditem
