CHICAGO, July 11 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese concert featuring China-U.S. friendship will be held at Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in downtown Chicago on Sept. 16 this year.

Different from the one held last year, when most performing groups and performers were from local communities, two renowned Chinese singers will join this year's concert.

Chinese tenor Dai Yuqiang will for the first time come to Chicago to present some classic music at the concert. Dai's daughter, also a professional singer, will join him, and the father and daughter will for the first time perform together overseas.

Cheng Lin, a Chinese pop singer, will present songs including "Xin Tian You", and "The Little Bugle" that made her a household name in China.

Coloratura Soprano Juliet Petrus just made a concert tour in China in May this year. She will also perform at the concert.

The Chinese concert this year will follow the same theme last year: "Understanding, Communication, Friendship", aiming to promote understanding and friendship among people of the two countries.

On Sept. 17, 2017, more than 40 theater troupes and nearly 1,700 performers from U.S. Midwest and China staged a Chinese concert at Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. More than 10,000 people, Chinese nationals and Americans alike, watched the performance. Enditem
