NAIROBI, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The CAF confederations Cup campaign resumes on Wednesday as Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia will host Yanga FC from Tanzania here in Group D clash.

Gor Mahia will seek to build on their good run of form to bury their opponents.

The Kenyan champions have two points in a group that also has leaders USM Algers of Algeria with four points. Rayon Sports of Rwanda and Yanga have two and one respectively.

The winners and runners-up of each of the four groups will advance to the quarterfinals. Yanga arrived in Nairobi on Monday and opted to make their own accommodation and transport frustrating any efforts by their hosts Gor Mahia to help.

Gor Mahia secretary general Ben Omondi said on Tuesday that their Tanzanian opponents may be reading mischief from the hosts, who returned from the regional CECAFA Club Championships in Dar es Salaam over the weekend and refused to use facilities set aside by Tanzanian hosts, which they believe had been charmed.

"This is common with African teams. However, let me assure Yanga that Gor Mahia has never and will never use black magic," Omondi said.

Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr will be eyeing his first victory of the CAF Group Stage competition after drawing in their first two matches against USM Algiers and Rayon Sports.

On the other hand, Yanga lost 4-0 to USM Alger and later secured a barren draw at home to Rayon Sports.

"Today's training session was fantastic. All in preparation for tomorrow's CAF Confederations Cup match against Yanga. Let the fans come in large numbers to watch us," said Kerr.

The winners of the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup will earn the right to play against the winners of the 2018 CAF Champions League in the 2018 CAF Super Cup in December.
