TEHRAN, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force said Thursday that if the United States starts a war on Iran, it would not be able to control its result, official IRNA news agency reported.

Qasem Soleimani said that the IRGC forces will be able to deal with any war with the United States, calling on U.S. President Donald Trump to stop threatening Iran.

With over 100,000 of its forces in the region over the past decade, the United States have suffered "humiliating defeat," Soleimani said, referring to the U.S. military actions with armored vehicles and helicopters in Afghanistan.

The remarks came in reaction to Trump's Tuesday twitter, through which he threatened Iranian President Hassan Rouhani of the actions "the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before."

Iran and the United Sates are in a bitter war of words over the past months, as Washington vowed to snap back monetary and oil sanctions on Iran following its withdrawal from the international 2015 nuclear deal on May 8.
