JAKARTA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian U-23 football players will play its first soccer match against Chinese Taipei in the upcoming Asian Games, the committee confirmed here on Friday.

The two teams are scheduled to vie on August 12 of this year in the Patriot Sport Stadium on the outskirts of Jakarta, it said.

Chairman of the committee Erick Thohir noted on Thursday night that the first match is earlier than the initial schedule given ahead of the Games.

"With the newly-issued schedules, the match is held earlier than the preliminary arrangement," he said.

Still, Erick asserted that it does not cause disturbance "because all of the preparation work is ready, particularly the sport venues and supporting facilities."

During the draw on Thursday night, the Palestinian soccer team was included in the list of the participants.

The match between teams from the Lao PDR and China's Hong Kong will be staged on August 10 as an opening match, the committee said.

Soccer matches for men are set to be held at Wibawa Mukti Sport Stadium, the Pekansari Sport Stadium and the Jajak Harupat Sport Stadium, all located in West Java province in addition to the Patriot Sport Stadium in Jakarta, it said.
