French shares up 0.57 pct on Friday

PARIS, July 27 (Xinhua) -- French shares gained on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up by 0.57 percent, to close at 5,511.76 points.

Carrefour was the big winner of the new salvo of publications that hit the Parisian market between Thursday night and Friday morning.

The distributor's share price jumped from 12.01 percent to 15.57 euros, its highest level since the end of May.

Kering which lost 7.72 percent to 464 euros posted the largest decline in the CAC 40, despite the publication of results for the first half of 2018, which was a strong increase.

In France, in the second quarter of 2018, real gross domestic product (GDP) grew at the same pace as in the first quarter: an increase of 0.2 percent.

In June 2018, household consumption expenditure on goods was almost unchanged in France, up by 0.1 percent in volume, according to INSEE. Enditem
