TEHRAN, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Esteghlal soccer team signed German midfielder Markus Martin Neumayr for new Iranian Professional League season.
Neumayr, 32, joined Esteghlal on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Neumayr joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 2003, and moved to Manchester United the following year.
Also, the German has played for MSV Duisburg, Wacker Burghausen and Bellinzona.
Esteghlal is preparing for Qatar's Al Sadd match in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League.
