CHICAGO, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- The United States and Colombia will meet in an international friendly in October, the US soccer federation said on Thursday.

The match will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on October 11.

It will be the 19th meeting between the teams in a rivalry that has seen the US win three and lose 11 matches. There have been four draws.

The last time the sides met was at the 2016 Copa America, when Colombia won 1-0 in the playoff for third place.

"When you talk about exciting, technical and experienced opponents, Colombia ticks all the boxes. With players at some of the top clubs around the world, they are fast, physical and skillful," US coach Dave Sarachan said.

Colombia are currently 16th in the FIFA world rankings while the US are 25th.
