SINGAPORE, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.63 percent, or 20.59 points, to close at 3,265.73.
A total of 1.73 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.08 billion Singapore dollars (about 790.58 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 259 to 141.
The STI index closed down 1.28 percent, or 42.69 points, to close at 3,286.32 Thursday.
