25-man Namibian Rugby squad jets off to Zimbabwe for Gold Cup tie

WINDHOEK, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Namibian National Rugby Team will play against Zimbabwe's 'Sables' in the Rugby Africa Gold Cup tournament on Saturday Aug. 4 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

The Namibia Rugby Union, CEO, Mervin Green, said on Friday a 25-man squad which will be lead by captain Deysel Johan departed for Zimbabwe in the morning.

Namibia faces Zimbabwe while currently occupying the top of the Gold Cup log, leading by 15 points, while Kenya sits in second place with 12 points.

The team that jetted to Zimbabwe is as follows: Botha Chrysander, Coetzee Johannes, Conradie Wian, De Klerk AJ, De la Harpe Darryl, Deysel Johan (CaptaiHn), Greyling JC, jantjies Eugene, Katjijeko Max, Kitshoff Rohan, Klim Lesley, Loubser Cliven, Newman Justin, Sethie Desiderius, Steenkamp PW, Stevens Damian, Theron Nelius, Tjeriko Mahepisa, Tromp Johan, Uanivi Tjiuee, Van der Westhuizen Louis, Van Jaarsveld Torsten, Van Lill Pieter-Jan, Venter Janco, Viviers Casper and head coach Phil Davies.

Meanwhile, Namibia's final match of the Rugby Africa Gold Cup against Kenya will be played at the Hage Geingob Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 18.
